Donation Criteria for the Just Desserts Fundraiser

✅ Accepted Donations

Desserts

  • Types: Cakes, pies, cookies, brownies, cupcakes, pastries, and other baked goods.
  • Portions: Ideally prepared as ~24 individual servings.
  • Packaging: Must be securely packaged and labeled with ingredients. Packaging should be suitable for display and transport.
  • Freshness: Must be freshly made within 24 hours of the event. Items requiring refrigeration must be pre-approved.

Wines and Beverages

  • Types: Bottled wines, craft beers, specialty liquors, and gourmet non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Condition: Must be unopened, in original packaging, and shelf-stable beyond the event date.

Silent Auction Items

  • Condition: New or like-new items only.
  • Types: Gift baskets, artwork, jewelry, home décor, gift certificates, services (e.g., spa treatments), and collectibles.
  • Value: Should have a minimum retail value of $25. Higher-value items are especially appreciated.

📋 Donation Guidelines

Quality Control

  • All items will be inspected by event volunteers.
  • We reserve the right to decline items that don’t meet quality or appropriateness standards.

Health & Safety

  • All food donations must include labeled ingredients, especially for allergens (nuts, dairy, gluten).
  • Items needing refrigeration must be cleared with the event coordinator ahead of time.

Delivery of Donations

  • Drop-Off Location: Elko Mybrary, 720 Court Street, Elko, NV
  • Dessert Drop-Off: Only on October 10 and 11. Must be checked in with the event coordinator.
  • Final Deadline: All donations must be received by Saturday, October 11 at 12:00 PM.

Tax Deductions

  • Tax receipts are available upon request. Please leave your contact information when dropping off your donation.
